Click on the Ads in left menu, then click on the link Get code.

Here is the code you will need to add to header.

Using a Plugin to Add Google AdSense code – on the left menu in dashboard click to Plugins > Add New and search for “Insert header and footers”, click on install now and activate.

Manually add the code in header – on the left menu click on the Appearance > Theme editor, choose header.php and paste the code after <head> section.

Quick tips: If you add the code manually when you update the system it will delete it, best practice is to add thru the plugin, that way when the system updates code will not be deleted.

Step 4: Ads format

On Ads in left menu you can go to Ads by unit to create an AD format, here is some of the choices.

Set the automatic optimization for the Ads.

Make sure your website/blog is optimized for mobile (responsive)

The number of people who use mobile devices is high, make sure you’re using responsive ads so that Google can send appropriate ad sizes to the mobile devices viewing your site.

Never click on your own ads

AdSense is based on clicks and other engagement, clicking an advertisement on your own website is considered fraudulent. It’s important that you don’t let any family members in your household click on those ads either.

Google won’t be able to tell the difference between you or your family if you’re living together. If they see clicks coming from your house to ads on your website, they might remove you from the AdSense program.

Make sure your site compiles with the terms of service

Google does not just accept any website into this program. You need to meet their eligibility requirements as is mentioned at the beginning to be considered.

Run different ad units

Everyone has different preferences. Different website visitors might be attracted to different styles and types of ads displayed on your website.

If you’re just running the same ad unit over and over again, you could be leaving some money on the table. For example, let’s say you’re only running text and display ad units right now. You can probably earn more as a publisher by running native ads.

Create content and drive traffic

AdSense isn’t going to start making money on your website right away; it’s 100% reliant on your website traffic. You will need to be constantly creating new content while coming up with new ways to get more people to your website.

Be patient over time AdSense is getting better, it can take months to learn from your site and give you the best ads that enable you to earn more.
